What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production to improve overall skin quality.

The purpose of microneedling is to enhance skin texture, firmness, and tone while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, pigmentation, and stretch marks. The micro-channels also allow for deeper absorption of targeted skincare ingredients, improving hydration and supporting skin repair.

Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and is commonly used to rejuvenate the face, neck, and body, resulting in smoother, healthier, and more radiant skin over time.

It is popular for treating:

  • Acne scars

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Large pores

  • Uneven texture and tone

  • Aging spots

  • Hiper pigmentation and Malasma

Areas Suitable for Microneedling

Microneedling can be performed on multiple areas of the face and body to improve skin texture, tone, and overall quality. Common treatment areas include:

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage (chest)

  • Hands

  • Scalp (for hair rejuvenation)

  • Abdomen

  • Thighs

  • Hips

  • Buttocks

  • Arms

  • Stretch mark–prone areas

  • Areas with acne scarring or uneven texture

Treatments are tailored to the specific area and skin concern to ensure safe, effective, and optimal results.

What to expect immediately after the treatment

  • Mild to moderate redness, similar to sunburn

  • Warmth or tightness in the skin

  • Slight swelling, especially around sensitive areas

  • Skin may feel dry, rough, or tight as it begins to heal

  • Possible light flaking or peeling after a few days

  • Redness typically subsides within 24–72 hours

  • Skin will gradually appear smoother, brighter, and more refreshed

Microneedling Aftercare:

   Do's

  • Keep the skin clean and hydrated

  • Use only gentle, soothing products as advised

  • Apply hyaluronic acid to support hydration and healing

  • Use a broad-spectrum SPF once redness has settled

  • Avoid touching the treated area with unclean hands

  • Sleep on clean pillowcases

  • Drink plenty of water to support skin recovery

  • Follow your therapist’s aftercare instructions carefully

  Don’ts

  • Do not wear makeup for at least 24 hours

  • Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds, and heat treatments

  • Do not use active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C) for 48–72 hours

  • Avoid excessive sweating, saunas, and steam rooms

  • Do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate the skin

  • Avoid swimming pools and hot tubs for at least 48 hours

  • Do not use harsh cleansers or fragranced products

What to Apply After Microneedling

Microneedling disrupts your skin barrier temporarily, making it more difficult to hydrate. Using a fragrance-free, non-comedogenic moisturiser or hyaluronic acid serum can support hydration and recovery.

We recommend:

  • Pure hyaluronic acid serum

  • Skin barrier cream

  • Avoid alcohol, essential oils or scented products for the first 3–5 days.

  • Mineral sunscreens with active ingredients zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, which are more gentle on freshly treated skin after 24hours

What to Avoid in the First 48 Hours

  • Makeup: Can irritate the skin and increase the risk of bacteria buildup.

  • Heat and sweating: Avoid gym workouts, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers.

  • Exfoliants: Do not use scrubs, chemical exfoliants, or peels (AHA/BHAs).

  • Retinoids and vitamin C: These active ingredients are too strong during the early healing phase.

Days 1–3: Healing Phase (Be Extra Gentle)

What to expect:

  • Redness similar to mild sunburn

  • Tightness or sensitivity

  • Mild swelling

  • Possible dryness or light peeling

Care instructions:

  • Hydrate regularly using a fragrance-free hyaluronic acid serum

  • Apply a gentle, nourishing moisturiser to support the skin barrier (ceramides recommended)

  • Avoid touching your face to prevent bacteria entering the micro-channels

  • Skip makeup completely

  • Avoid the gym, hot yoga, saunas, and steam rooms

  • Sleep on your back with a clean pillowcase

  • Wear SPF 50 if outdoors, even on cloudy days

Days 4–7: Skin Recovery Phase (Repair in Progress)

What to expect:

  • Redness continues to fade

  • Skin may feel smooth but slightly dry

  • Mild flaking or peeling may persist

  • Slight sensitivity to products

Care instructions:

  • Continue using a hydrating serum and a gentle, nourishing moisturiser

  • Apply mineral SPF 50 daily

  • Resume cleansing twice daily using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser

  • Avoid active ingredients (retinol, glycolic acid, vitamin C, etc.)

  • Do not pick or exfoliate peeling skin — allow it to shed naturally

  • Light makeup may be worn after day 5 once sensitivity has fully settled
